Why We Built This Site
Alabama record access depends on both the record type and its custodian. The Lee County Sheriff's Office maintains jail and booking information and its own agency reports. Circuit, District, and municipal clerks keep the cases heard in their courts. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, State Bureau of Investigation, Criminal Justice Information Services Division maintains fingerprint-linked state criminal-history information, while the Alabama Department of Corrections covers current state-prison custody. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sex Offender Registry is a separate public-notification system. The site brings the confirmed contacts, official links, request steps, and published charges for those channels into a single Lee County reference.

This is a privately run reference site, not part of an Alabama court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- It cannot retrieve a criminal record or perform an official background check
- It cannot submit an expungement petition, public-record request, or court filing for a visitor
- It does not issue certified court documents, criminal-history reports, or other official copies
- It cannot give legal advice about a charge, warrant, disposition, or eligibility for relief
- It cannot promise that an office has not changed a published address, fee, phone number, or procedure
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Lee County sheriff, the hearing court, or the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
